Set Back. 74th Festival de Cannes

On June 3, the slated Cannes Film Festival press conference in Paris announced the selection for 2021 competition, after one year hiatus from global pandemic, it's taking place from July 6 to 17, rather than the annually May event, but the usual venue, at the Palais des Festival.

With Jodie Foster's honorary Palm d'Or, and Spike Lee as the president of the jury.  An unexpected selection ?  Paul Verhoeven's "Benedetta", the true story of 17th century French nun, played by Virginie Efira ?

And they already have selected the opening film, "Annette" among the official competitions, Marion Cotillard and Adam Driver play the couple with mysterious daughter, 'Annette'.
