Honorary Riviera

That's how 77th Cannes Film Festival has raised its curtain from May 14, Tuesday, 2024, over the red carpet on Palais des Festivals, one premiere was described the return of Hollywood royalty.

Francis Ford Coppola's film "Magalopolis" was introduced, 45 years after his "Apocalypse Now", it's only fitting, the script-writer, Paul Schrader, is also celebrating his 77th years of age.

And presenting his latest "Oh, Canada" about a dying film-director, played by Richard Gere.  The festival this year is presided by Greta Gerwig, the honorary Palme d'Or, was handed over Meryl Streep, also fittingly.
