Too Hard Boiled ?

When "The Equalizer 2" was left off, the franchise was super hard action, with human drama, rescue, revenge... When the series go too much, or too less, in either side, is "The 3" still attractive enough to the fans ?

Hercules Poirot is the opposite of the 'hard boiled detective', except boiled egg head, which is lost to Kenneth Branagh's arrangement, image.  Is his Poirot still attractive to the fans ?  He has tried his ideas, even to Shakespeares to modern day audience.

"A Haunting in Venice" is originally Agatha Christie's "Halloween Party".  Its set now to post-World War II Venice. Is it too much, or too less ?
