The Tally: 2022

Or, the review.  Each year to conclude the Holidays heading towards the award season, we come up with one question: the best movie of the year.  And we all pick one.  With its opening from Dec. 23, "Babylon" could have seen the last of our choices for best picture line-ups ? 

Is there a sentiment, Damien Chazelle's "La La Land" should have won the best film Oscar, but missed, here's another try ?  "Babylon" certainly is, depicting this time, 1920's Hollywood.  And this year's film epics have been quite musical already, since Cate Blanchett and "Tar" could be the double winners for many critical acclaims.

Also exactly the same could be said to "Elvis" and Austin Butler.  The best actor for him ?  This category could be fiercely competitive with Bill Nighy's performance from "Living", the reviews celebrated this solid drama, as worthy of Oscar bound.
